I am slowly, ever slipping away, my love
You've always been there, since I first opened my eyes
Perhaps since the time of the stardust we're made of
I: a cold, wandering mess - You: warm, centred, wise
You're the jewel of my heavens, where beauty lies
Wispy swirls of white clouds, oceans the deepest blue
Forests vibrant green, soil dusty red: your earthrise
That I consume with my heart, so serene, so true
Why do your dwellers seek my light, this faded hue?
I welcome them arms wide, but then do tell me, love
They take you for granted, why, always wounding you?
What could I offer, if even you aren't enough?
I am slowly, ever slipping away, my love
Reasons we can't control, but I'll stay truly yours
One day, we might be tugged apart, yes, it'll be tough
But until then, we're bound still in our cosmic waltz
